Vancouver to Vietnam - $540 CAD roundtrip including taxes [Cathay Pacific]

Cathay Pacific has dropped the price of their April 2024 flights from Vancouver to Vietnam down to between $540 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights have 1 stop each way, in Hong Kong.
April is one of the best months to visit Vietnam.
You can also fly into Ho Chi Minh City and then home from Hanoi for the same price.
You can also extend the layover in Hong Kong and make it a 2-in-1 trip, but it does add ~$150 CAD to the price.
Flights to the Philippines and Thailand are available for $760 to $815 roundtrip.
And if you really want to get creative, you can fly into Thailand, and then fly from Vietnam to Hong Kong, and back to Vancouver - all for $701 CAD roundtrip.
UPDATE @ 11:30 AM PST - Dates are definitely disappearing quickly. Starting to see prices jump when selecting dates on Google Flights which is an indicator that dates are selling out. More likely to find dates that are still cheap in May than in April now.
UPDATE @ 12:30 PM PST - It looks like this is over. It was nice to see an amazing price to SE Asia again. The first one in the $500s CAD roundtrip in since March of 2020.

How to find and book these flights
1. Start with a Google Flights search like this one:
Google Flights: Vancouver to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Google Flights: Vancouver to Hanoi, Vietnam
Google Flights: Vancouver to Manila, Philippines
Google Flights: Vancouver to Bangkok, Thailand
- Click on the departure date box to open up the calendar view and browse for cheap date combinations.
- Adjust the trip length at the bottom.
NOTE: You can also find dates in May 2023, but Google Flights can't browse dates that far way. See below for info on how to find them.
2. Go to Kayak or Skyscanner
- Try the same destination and dates you found on Google Flights.
You can also find dates in May 2024 (and even into the beginning of June), but Google Flights can't browse dates that far way.
1. Try starting with a Kayak search like this one:
Kayak - third week of April to first week of May
Kayak - last week of April to second week of May
Kayak - beginning of May to third week of May
Kayak - second week of May to end of May
Kayak - middle of May to beginning of June
- Once your search completes, you can try different dates (and destinations) in late April and May to see what's available.
