Vancouver to Costa Rica - $389 (CB) to $481 CAD roundtrip including taxes [Nonstop Flights]

WestJet has dropped the price of their flights from Vancouver to Liberia, Costa Rica down to between $389 and $481 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights are nonstop both ways, and available for two of the most desirable months to be in Costa Rica.
WestJet just added these flights to their schedule yesterday, and they are the only nonstop flights from Vancouver to Costa Rica.
I consider $389 roundtrip to be WestJet's clickbait (CB) price because it doesn't include checked luggage or carry-on. Not exactly a realistic way to travel.
$481 roundtrip is the more realistic price because at least it includes checked luggage.
However, those with the WestJet World Elite credit card can take advantage of the clickbait price as the card gives you free checked luggage.
UPDATE @ 10:23 AM PST: It looks like all dates have sold out of the cheapest prices. Jan 9-23 is still $389 but only has 1 seat remaining. December 12-26 is also available for $465 (CB). I will update this post if any more cheap ones become available.

How to find and book this deal
1. Go to the WestJet website
- Search for a flight from Vancouver (YVR) to Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR)
- Try Friday dates in January or February 2026.
- Look for the Departure Dates that are $212 on the way there, and the Return dates that are $177.
2. At this point, there are a few different ways you can book these flights...
For $389 roundtrip. This includes *only* a personal item (something that can fit under the seat in front of you).
- But those with the WestJet World Elite credit card can still bring free checked bags for themselves and those travelling with them and may find this fare useful.
- To book this price simply proceed to book WestJet's 'UltraBasic' fare.
*OR*
For $481 roundtrip. This includes a personal item and a checked bag. But not carry-on.
- To book this price proceed to book WestJet's 'UltraBasic' fare for $389 roundtrip.
- When you get about 3 steps into the booking process, you'll see the option to add a checked bag for $92.50 roundtrip.
