How to find and book this deal
1. Start with a Google Flights search like this one:
Google Flights: Seattle to Munich, Germany
2. Click on the departure date box to open up the calendar view and look for the cheap date combinations that are $565 CAD roundtrip.
From Google Flights you can click through to the United Airlines website to book these flights for $565.
3. Or, if you want to book them for $459 CAD...
Go to Momondo
Search for a flight from Seattle to Munich, Germany (MUC)
Use the same dates you found on Google Flights.
From the Momondo search results, the only booking site showing these for $459 is the low quality booking site TravelMerry.
TIP: On Google Flights, look for the flights where the overseas legs are operated by Lufthansa or Air Canada (better than United Airlines). Usually you can get a Lufthansa flight in at least one direction.
Once your Momondo search completes, you'll notice you can click on the message that says 'United Airlines has another X number of results'. Even though these appear to all be United Airlines flights, many of these flights are actually operated by Lufthansa and Air Canada.
If you click on the 'United Airlines has another X number of results' message, it will expand the search results.
If you have a look at the flight times on Google Flights, and compare them to what you're seeing in these expanded Momondo search results, it can help you locate the flights that are actually operated by Lufthansa and Air Canada.
The 'Time of Day' sliders on the left hand side of Momondo can also help with narrowing down the search results to the flights you found on Google Flights.
IMPORTANT: Many of the booking sites showing these fares are in $USD (including TravelMerry) - so watch out for that.
